After visiting a local bonsai conference, and ogling the lovely tiny trees, the idea of using the steel wire to wrap tree trunks starting working in Joy's brain. After much trial and lots of errors, she attended a class in construction wire cages with Sara Sally LaGrand. It worked and the first bonsai was started. After several weeks of bead making on the steel wires and the construction of the wire cages, the bonsai began to take shape.  Each tree incorporates hundreds of individual wires.
