Bonsai in Bloom
While attending a class at a beadmakers’ conference, Joy was introduced to steel wire. Although not applicable to her orbs, the workability of steel was fun. After much trial and lots of errors, she attended a class in construction wire cages with Sara Sally LaGrand. It worked. After weeks of flameworking tiny blossoms and weeks of construction, the first bonsai was completed in about two months. While not a quick process, the completion of the first bonsai was very rewarding.
