After working with steel wire for a while, Joy found that stainless steel TIG wire gave her the look she was visualizing. Starting with larger orbs it soon became apparent that working smaller and with a series gave her the look and continuity she was working towards. By adding additional orbs she was able to create varying sizes for a variety of applications. With the introduction of swivels on the top orb, the movement of the pieces became vital for the overall visual appeal of the work. This rainbow of orbs won Best in Show at the Oldham Fine Arts Show in 2013.
