These sculptures came to the artist in a dream. After six months of trial and error, Joy finally figured out what she was dreaming. Joy found, after working with steel wire, that stainless steel TIG wire gave her the look she was visualizing.
Glass is melted onto stainless steel wire and then the wire and glass are annealed. After the piece cools, glass is formed on the other end of the wire and again annealed. After cooling, the wire is cleaned and then wrapped onto a center. Handmade mini bead added between each wire. With the introduction of swivels on the top, the movement of the piece became vital for the overall visual appeal of the work. Each piece is individual and one-of-a-kind because no two can be identical.
These pieces are between 5 inches and 12 inches long. The prices range from $90 to $150, depending on length and the added embellishments.
